Small Size Cable Fault Locator Uses TDR Technology

Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. is offering its small size cable fault locator which uses TDR technology. It has been widely used in communication maintenance, project construction and integrated cabling.

This easy-to-use cable fault locator, model A0080001, features a low voltage warning, automatic power off for saving energy and automatic fault distance location without manual intervention. It performs fault distance location, pulse testing, cable line fault testing, wave shape comparison and data record testing. It offers a vast impulse width range from 30 ns to 3 μs and provides a VOP range from 50 to 300 m/μs. It also has a wide measurement range from 1 to 6000 m with a high resolution of 20 cm and a broad gain modulation range from 1 to 10 dB.

This cable fault locator has a fast sampling rate of up to 500 kHz and provides both auto and manual measurement modes. In auto measurement mode, it features a short dead zone test distance of less than 1 m; in manual measurement mode, the dead zone test distance is less than 15 m.

The locator also tests the line for breaks and shorts and circuit faults on twisted-pair cables, data cables, high frequency cables and coaxial cables. In addition, its built-in 7.2 V rechargeable lithium battery allows for over 12 hours of continuous operation.

This small size cable fault locator belongs to GAO’s family of Telecom Line Testers. Parallel Data Acquisition Module for Time-Phase Sensitive Acquisition

Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. is offering its parallel data acquisition module for time-phase sensitive acquisition.

This parallel data acquisition module, model A0K00002, is equipped with two high-speed 40 MS/s ADCs with 12 bit A/D resolution. It features a small-sized structure, standard PC104 board card design, stacked connection and simple bus drive.

The data acquisition card also features high accuracy with phase consistency .It includes two independent programmable gain channels and three triggering modes which are manual, external and internal. It allows for quick, easy data acquisition and control to be carried out using a computer. Demo source code is provided for common development platforms to support technical development.

This data acquisition board boasts a wide sampling rate ranging from 1 k to 40 M with a low inter-channel phase difference of less than 1°. In addition, it has a memory depth of 4 M/ch which can be extended to 8 M/ch or 16 M/ch.

It is designed for frame synchronization code monitoring, CRC4 monitoring, offline error testing, signal waveform analysis, IP PING testing, offline and online monitoring and ITU-T G.821, G.826, M.2100 error analysis.

This multi-function E1/T1 BER tester and data transmission analyzer, model A0020004, performs error code testing at the rate of 50 b/s to 2048 kb/s and offers 2M online monitoring for routine maintenance, repair and operations monitoring of communication equipment.
