Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. has released its USB arbitrary waveform generator and frequency counter featuring highly accurate frequency generation, high waveform resolution, high reliability, and wide software support due to the implementation of DDS (Direct Digital Synthesized) technology. Since the data format of this generator is completely compatible with Tektronix; it can directly read the waveform data files produced by the Tektronix oscilloscopes and Tektronix waveform editor software and redisplay the waveform.
This USB arbitrary waveform generator and frequency counter, model 3005, is shipped with both SDK and API and can be easily integrated or embedded into other auto-measuring systems. It has one channel of arbitrary waveform output, 8 bit output, synchronized signal outputs, two input channels for counter/frequency measurement, 8 bit input and external trigger input. Users can arbitrarily edit the waveform or choose from regular waveforms such as Sine, Square, Triangle, Saw-tooth, TTL, White Noise, Gauss Noise, Trapezoid, Exponent, AM and FM. Parameters, including amplitude, frequency and phase, are also settable.

Toronto. Canada – GAO Tek Inc. has rolled out an ear simulator operating over the frequency range of 20Hz to 10000Hz. It is designed for the servicing of hearing aids and production testing of earphones. The ear simulator is used for frequency response, sensitivity and distortion measurements on insert earphones found in hearing aids and operator headsets.
This high performance ear simulator, model 6161, complies with the requirements of the IEC60711 standard for measurements using insert earphones. It features a simple and straightforward calibration procedure and well defined measuring conditions. The main ear canal volume is of a similar shape and volume to that of the actual human ear and provides similar acoustic impedance to the insert earphone being tested. Its frequency response accuracy is less than ±0.5dB at 200Hz to 5000Hz and less than ±1dB at 20Hz to 10000Hz.

This IPTV tester tests video frequency quality, code steam quality (ISO TR1011290) and net configuration. Parameters such as jitter, packet loss, transmission speed and MDI can be tested in order to judge network performance quality. The tester also provides several kinds of test patterns such as simulation, interception, series connection and straight connection.
This handheld IPTV tester, model 360, can further function as an STB emulator capable of intercepting multicast streams. Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. recommends its ICP microphone preamplifier which can be used with both pre-polarized and extremely polarized microphones. It is intended to amplify a low-level signal to line-level. The microphone preamplifier is suited for acoustic engineers using analyzers which support Smart Transducer Interface IEEE P1451.4 with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet). It has been widely used in multi-channel signal analysis setups with 1/2’’ pre-polarized condenser microphones, multi-channel sound power measurements and multi-channel machinery noise measurements.
This ICP compatible microphone preamplifier, model 14604, has a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20kHz at a noise accuracy of ±0.2dB or 10Hz to 100kHz at ±0.5dB. It is characterized by its wide frequency range and low noise floor. The maximum output voltage is 5V. Its low output impedance and high output current allow the unit to drive very long microphone extension cables. In addition, the use of BNC connector ensures easy installation and operation.

This handheld CATV signal level meter, model 828B, provides a wide frequency range of 46 to 870MHz, a resolution bandwidth of 280KHz ±50KHz, and a level range from 30dBμV to 120dBμV at an accuracy of ±1.5dBuV (Indoor temperature) or ±2.5dBuV (-10°C to 40°C). It can scan up to 125 channels within a frequency range from 46 to 870MHz. The CATV signal level analyzer works continuously for more than 5 hours on a single charge and is equipped with a large character backlit TN LCD screen on which the test results are clearly displayed.

Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. has rolled out a digital function generator used to generate electrical waveforms. Available waveforms can be either repetitive or single-shot in which case some kind of triggering source is required. The digital function generator contains an attenuator, offers various means of output waveform modulation, and has the ability to automatically and repetitively sweep the frequency of the output waveform between two operator-determined limits. This capability makes it very easy to evaluate the frequency response of a given electronic circuit.
GAO Tek Inc.’s digital function generator, model 8219A, operates in the frequency range of 0.3Hz to 3MHz or 0.5Hz to 5MHz. Waveforms includes Sine, Triangle, Square, Ramp, TTL and CMOS output. It boasts an external voltage controlled frequency (VCF) function, duty cycle control with signal inversion capacity, two-step and variable attenuation and a built-in 6 digit counter with INT/EXT function up to 100MHz. The function generator features variable DC offset control, high resolution, INT/EXT AM/FM modulation, LIN/LOG sweep modes and GCV output for synchronization.

Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. has announced the availability of an innovative digital video recorder which records video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD memory card or other memory medium. It includes an embedded real-time operating system (RTOS). The DVR uses PATA and SATA connectors for disc connection, RS485 as an I/O connector and 10M/100M Ethernet interface for a network connection.
This real-time digital video recorder (DVR), model 9008, consumes little power – about 50W without hard disc consumption. It records both video and audio signals. For video, it offers a 25f/ch/s recording rate for 625 lines in PAL mode, CIF and HD1 recording resolution as well as 6 levels of picture recording quality. The DVR supports 8 channels composite video input with 1.0Vp-p75Ω BNC and also supports video input and output in both PAL and NTSC modes. For Audio, it has 8 channels of input and 1 channel of output using RCA connection. It also offers a sample ratio of 8ksample/s and employs G.722 audio compression. In addition, the real-time DVR boasts 8 channels of alarm inputs and 2 channels of alarm outputs.
