This telephone cable fault locator, model 98, integrates both TDR and intelligent bridge testing functions into one unit. It performs measurements at distances up to 15km and overcomes the limitation of the dead zone of a TDR; the dead zone distance is less than 1m. This high performance fault locator detects breaks and micro-bends even in jacketed fibers. It operates in both pulse and bridge modes.
